Tatiana Harrison, the founder of the Rondo Music Society and the artistic director of the Rondo Piano Academy began her piano studies at the age of 5, at Moscow's famous Prokoffiev Professional Music School. After graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Music from the State Pedagogical Music Institute, Tatiana was invited to work as a pianist-accompanist at the famous Yurlov Russian National Capella in Moscow, at the State Art Academy, and at the Bolshoi Ballet Company. From 1986 to 1989, Tatiana, representing the Russian Ministry of Culture, was posted to establish the first Arabic Performing Arts Academy in Damascus (Syria). There, she worked as a pianist and also actively toured throughout the Middle East, performing with other Russian musicians. In 1990, Tatiana moved to Canada and earned her Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from the University of Victoria. Then in 2001, Tatiana formed the Rondo Music Society, and with society and community support, opened the Rondo Piano Academy. Although Rondo's students are now Tatiana's passion, she still finds time to continue to work actively as a pianist-accompanist and indulges her love of vocal and dancing arts as a faculty member of the Canadian College of Performing Arts, and the accompanist for the Newcombe Singers Choir. It is not surprising that all of Tatiana's students feel they are part of one Rondo family, nurtured and taught by one of the most dedicated piano teachers in the community. "I have been proud of teaching and collaborating with my pupils and, with the support from the community, I see Rondo's future as the successful confirmation of the vision and consistent efforts I have been tirelessly sharing and promoting, regarding my passion and respect for piano." - Tatiana Harrison |
